March 2017 Newsletter

God is on the move…. He is aligning divine appointments, divine relationships in divine timing! Since January 1 there have been many blessings and many blessed by the hands of God and His children. Thank you to each of you for being a part of such an amazing move of God. Without your contributions, your time, your prayers and your talents it would not be possible. God is using us all to help others and there are no small parts; everyone is valuable and everyone is needed.
The many voices of Emerge have been extremely busy doing the work of the Lord. In January we traveled to Washington, DC for what Central Union Mission named “The Emerge Take-Over Day”. God went before us and made a way for us to partner with Vision Impact Center with  Pastors Willie and Eboni Speight at Franklin Park on that Saturday morning for the Breakfast and Blessings homeless mission. Then off to Central Union Mission for an amazing day and night where we met so many wonderful people and the move of God was astounding! Our time in Washington, DC was eye-opening and we were blessed more so than the homeless that we ministered to. However, the blessings continue to pour out as God is on the move!

  • In February, Daniel and Amanda Dick traveled back to Washington, DC to follow up with individuals and met with a couple of churches and organizations. One being Vision Impact Center with Pastors Willie and Eboni Speight. We have a tentative date of June 10th to return to Washington, DC to Franklin Park  at which time we will team with several other ministries to hold a city wide crusade.

  • Thank you Jody Sumner and Kyle & Wayne Pierce of R & W Construction for the temporary storage unit. What a blessing! We so appreciate this unit as now we can organize donations in a secure environment.

  •  On Febuary 20th Terry, Judy, Chad, Daniel, and Amanda gave an Emerge presentation at One Christian Network for Emma Baltezore of Wilmington, NC. Approximately 30 other ministries were present and the presentation was to share with them the Emerge vision and give them the opportunity to partner with us.

  •  On Friday, February 24th a group of Emerge vices joined up with Bright Lights Ministries at Solomon Towers in Wilmington, NC for the Emerge/Bright Lights Ministries Evening @ Solomon Towers. Solomon Towers is an 11 story public housing structure dedicated to the elderly and disabled. It houses 150 residents that consist of some handicapped as well as some elderly. Partnering with this fantastic ministry team and with your help we were able to provide an evening of dinner, worship, and take home blessing bags. Thank you Barbara Hodges.

  • On Friday, February 24th we were also able to bless Potters Wheel Ministries. God allowed us to prepare to much for Solomon Towers and because of that the residents and staff at The Wheel were able to have a nice meal and dessert.

  • On March 4th the Love Train will be pulling out at 5:00 am sharp as 20 plus volunteers are heading to Columbia, SC for training to minister to the incarcerated. On the way home we will have the opportunity to tour OM Ship Ministries in preparation for future international ministry. OM will do our international volunteer training at no cost.

  • We have spoken with Janet Taylor; referred by Donna Hardy (Director) of The Gate in Kinston, NC in reference to a large crusade to take place in Winston Salem, NC this year.

  • Next month we will begin with a “Ministry Family Spotlight of the Month”. Each month we will interview and showcase a family within Emerge Ministry to give you the opportunity to get to know the many voices of Emerge.

Although we will miss hearing Burnie Pope play guitar; he has decided to change his role with Emerge for an undisclosed amount of time. He will be taking a back seat and helping behind the scenes in order to spend more time with family. With this being said we welcome Sam Cochran to our Emerge family as he is coming on to play guitar. Welcome to the Emerge family Sam and Amanda Cochran & Olivia!

We also welcome Joeth Strickland and her family. We would like to thank them for bring their many gifts and talents to help Emerge as we broaden to both national and international ministry.

Mark Your Calendars!!       We have 2 large crusades coming up:

  1. April 22nd – City Wide Crusade Fayetteville, NC Partnering with Brian Trejo & his wife (Kingdom Music)

  2. May 26th – City Wide Crusade “Amped” Spartanburg, SC Barnet Park

From the words of Terry & Judy Norris, “Emerge is becoming more than a ministry. It is a movement of God’s people fulfilling His purpose in their lives.” Pray, hear from God and be obedient; see if God’s purpose for your life is to join up with Emerge. We would love to have you join us as we continue to be the hands, feet and voices for God. May God’s mercy, grace and blessings be upon you always.

Matthew 5:14-16

Much Love To You All

We are extremely excited as next month we will discuss international ministry!
