The past couple of weeks have been tough in writing my personal blog for God. I have procrastinated telling an extremely difficult part of my testimony. I blamed not writing on being so busy; but the truth is I now realize it was just procrastination. Was it out of fear or shame, fear of rejection, fear of judgment of others; I’m not sure exactly. One thing I do know is that after I published the article; satan immediately came in to try and steal my peace and joy. Thoughts invaded my mind that people will think badly of me for what I had done. But you know the devil is a liar and a defeated foe. Pastor Jim always says; it’s none of our business what others think of us; only what God thinks of us should be our concern. And he is exactly right!
***Luke 8:39(NIV) “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Today I want to encourage you to use your story for God. Tell others what He has done for you. So many people are afraid to speak up and tell their testimony for fear of what people may think. But you know it doesn’t matter what people think and if they judge you for glorifying God and telling them what He has done; then they are being judgmental and shall pay for their sin. When you have lived a life that was not pleasing to God; most likely you are your own worst critic. I know I have been. But God wants us to use our story so that we can show others what He can do when we allow Him to do a work within us.
Perhaps your story just might be the one that someone can relate to in order to give hope, bring change, healing, restoration or even save their life. Don’t be ashamed of your past. When you repent and God forgives you, He no longer remembers that sin and neither should you. Leave the past in the past and move forward with God; only using the past to learn and to help others who may be going through the same thing that you did. I have found tremendous healing, change and restoration as I have shared my story of my personal life; not to mention how God has used it to help others. Your story just might be what someone needs!
***Romans 8:28(NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
When you accepted Christ as your personal savior, you became a new creature. So hold your head high; never look down in shame again for you are a Son or Daughter of the King. We are not orphans, we are children of God! Where you have fear ask God to step in and fill it with love. If we don’t step out of the comfort zone and stand up for Christ; then we are just as well cheering for satan. Someone may be going thorough what you have overcome. And if they think they are the only one; then they just may drown and die with that pain. Open up, speak up, become transparent and vulnerable and use what gift God has given you to be a witness for Him. Let the world see what He can do! He creates beauty from ashes and what once was a burden to bear can become a powerful story of Holy transformation.
***Isaiah 61:3(NIV) and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called Oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
To God Be All the Glory, Honor and Praise, Forevermore! Amen!
Much Love to You All,
