Emerge Through The Heart of a Child

“We at Emerge are blessed to have awesome kids on our ministry team as God not only uses adults to reach the lost and share His love. He layed upon my heart to ask a special little girl to share her view of Emerge so that you can see for yourself that God is on the move. This child is so full of life and love and we so appreciate the gift that she is. We have many other amazing kids that work very hard for God in this ministry and you will get to meet them too!

Now from Amber’s heart:

“My name is Amber Gooch and I am 10 years old. I am in the 5th grade and I go to Richlands Elementary School. My favorite sport is soccer. I am involved in a lot of activities like drama, Fellowship for Christian Athletes, Battle of the Books, Girls on the Run and much more!! I am a very outgoing person. I bet you can tell I am already an interesting person so far!!”

“Emerge Ministries is a group of a lot of grown ups and kids that help everyone in need and want to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We help people that are in need and need more hope to believe in Jesus. Ever since I have been a part of Emerge, we have been helping people that were in floods, hurricanes and people that are homeless. We try to give them hope and show we love them. We give them clothes and hats to keep them warm. Sometimes we make food and sing worship songs to everyone. My role is to help with kids ministries. I hand out toys and candy to the kids to make them happy. I sit down with them and talk to them and tell them Jesus loves them. I love seeing their faces when they get toys or candy, they look so happy! I love making people happy! We don’t do this to be like Jesus and heal people or bring the dead back to life or calm a storm, but we do this to be like Jesus by loving everyone we meet.”

Interesting fact:
“One of the songs we sing on every trip is “The Love Train” and we sing it because we love everyone! We also travel on the road in our bus and cars like a giant train coming down the road!”

“My most memorable trip was going to Washington DC.

On the first day we went to a park and saw a lot of homeless people that lived on the benches.

We handed out little red hearts, which meant we were sharing God’s love.

One person we met was Maria and little dog. She had a little cart that carried all her stuff.

I was sad when we prayed with her because her hand was so cold and I couldn’t imagine being homeless.

But then there was joy because I gave her a hug!

Later that day we went to a men’s homeless shelter and we served them food and sang songs about Jesus.

Then the next day we went to church with some of the people we met.

My favorite person I met was Demetrius.

He was so funny and I taught him how to do the dab! He is my new friend!

He lives in the men’s shelter and one of our members gave him a bible and he was so happy!”

“Each of you has received a gift to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.”             1 Peter 4:10

“To me this verse means God gave each of us a gift to serve Him and to serve others. God wants us to use our gifts.”

“Have a great day and remember God loves you!!!!!    (thumbs up!)”

As you can see God is definitely on the move and using children too. Amber is just one of many little voices that work diligently beside the adults in this ministry. As you follow this blog, you will see just how He speaks to the heart and soul of  each and every person within Emerge, as we continue to be the hands, feet & voice for God.

…….Matthew 18:10  – See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

…….Proverbs 20:11 – Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright.

……Proverbs 22:6  – Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

To God Be the Glory!

Much Love To You All,
