Stay Unified In The Body of Christ – Don’t Block Your Blessings

As each of us at Emerge Ministries grow with Christ and our personal relationships deepen with Him; we are coming more into the light and realizing our importance in God’s Kingdom. This is all so true, but not without some difficulties along the way individually and as a body of believers. Satan loves to throw things our way to det0ur our path and try to completely throw us out of the game. They say it’s a battlefield of the mind and this is oh so true as this is where Satan attacks. Iniquity begins with just a thought.

Revival started at Community Church on February 29th and is still continuing for an undisclosed amount of time. Having a different speaker every night has open doors of opportunity for different people within different churches, ministry groups, ect. to come together with many voices for one purpose- God’s plan.  From Emerge Ministries; Terry, Judy, Chad, Ms. Sue, Michelle and myself preached and/or gave testimony. Tim, one of the Emerge Live members, ministered through song and music. Being unified as a body of believers is what God desires; using each individuals gifts coupled together to change lives all for His glory. It takes being unified; no divisions, no denominational or religious barriers, no race, gender or age barriers as these destroy the body of Christ. We are to uplift and encourage one other and work towards the goal of glorifying God, keeping unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy and he uses us; the believers to destroy one another. But God uses us to build one another up. This revival really touched my heart. It gave opportunity for even myself to speak and I am not a preacher. But I was able to give my testimony and it touched many lives; however I almost allowed Satan to stop me.

Fear of standing in front of people overcame me and I had to pray about speaking. After receiving confirmations I knew I was to speak. I got sick but I decided I was going to speak regardless. I knew that God had a great plan if Satan was fighting me that hard. But on the drive to the church, Satan was whispering to me that I wasn’t good enough to stand at that pulpit and speak. During praise and worship; God spoke to Judy Norris and told her to pray with me. She spoke everything to me that Satan had told me, and God used her to let me know it was going to be ok. She prayed for peace to cover me and when I got to the pulpit; a calmness that I can’t even explain overcame me and I started sharing. If Judy had not prayed with me and gave me the message from God; I may not have gotten through it. And in turn, lives that my testimony touched may not have been changed. He used me to deliver and touch lives; He used Judy to give me a word and He used everyone that spoke to touch me. It’s a ripple effect and if we had not been obedient; then we would have missed out on our blessings. It took us all being unified to do what God had planned for that night.

Because of fear, I came close to allowing Satan to block blessings that God had for everyone that night. Giving Satan that control will deter the calling God has on my life. I learned that very night that we just have to face fear in order to fulfill our calling. It takes each of us working together to build one another up in order to change lives for His glory. None of us can do it alone.

We can’t allow Satan to deter us from what God has called us to do; someone is depending on us. There are many barriers that destroy unity and tricks of the enemy; making us feel that we aren’t good enough is one of them. But when we all come together regardless of our denomination, race, sex, age, etc. we can fulfill the great commission for God. However, if we allow those barriers to stand in the way it causes division; therefore doing exactly what Satan wants us to do which is to destroy the body of Christ. When faced with fear, trust God and step out of the boat.

So as we here at Emerge are emerging into the light we want others to join us, being unified for God. When a body of Believers come together; regardless of the denomination we can work together to fulfil the great commission for God. Whether by prayer, financial support, or physically helping; everything is appreciated and everything is needed. Everyone has a calling, a gift; therefore everyone has something that they can offer to do the work that Jesus did when He was here on earth.

……….Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness

………Ephesians 4:1-16(NIV) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

 To God Be The Glory!

Much Love To You All!
